Unlined silk kimono are traditionally worn in the Japanese warmer months. They are put on and worn with an obi, the same as lined kimono. However for western wear, it is easy to cut and shorten a long unlined kimono. It is also quite easy to remove the sleeves from them for more “creative” wearing.
